1. Kyle says:

That interview I was talking about was supposed to go up today, but it hasn’t yet and I haven’t heard anything from the guy. I’ll post the link when I get it.

2. Half left says:

No music/audio for me at work unfortunately :( . I meant more life in general not necessarily work hours. I worry that now that I’m earning and working a 9-5 thing I’ll have no energy or motivation to do anything else ever.

The gay friend thing I can live with. It’s not far off to be honest. I don’t live with the 14 girls any more. I moved out of that student accommodation in September into a shared house with my best friend (a girl) and a guy we didn’t know so well.

And I flirt better than that you jerkbutt!

Voicemail for yous.

whoops this has nothing to do with the show.

I haven’t listened to this episode yet, but I did do a kick-ass handstand yesterday.

5. MissNic says:

Ok, this whole sister business. I’m going to say what I think.
Blood is thicker than water etc, so should we all share Christmas with the family of someone we received a transfusion from?
It’s family. So should Josef Fritzl’s children/grandchildren still spend time with him in his awesome basement?
It was a long time ago. So if Osama Bin Laden had donated several million dollars to world charities before being found, would that change your opinion of what had been done in the past?

If you have a family who are hung up on the idea of family and all that sentemental bullshit, then you’ll get a few bad words and sly looks for a while but hey, you’re family, they have to forgive you, right?

I was the younger sister growing up. I agree that I may have annoyed my brother but I never did it intentionally. My brother admitted to me that the reason he beat me up, humiliated me and tried to kill me when we were kids was because he was jealous of me for being smarter than him. I got on with him for a while when we weren’t living under the same roof but overall he is a bad person. I’ve been given the “we’re family” line too many times and now I want nothing to do with him.

I agree with you 100% that if you don’t like someone you don’t have them in your life. My life has been so much better since I cut him out of my life. I made a conscious effort this Christmas not to see him at all. My parents insist on telling me about what’s going on in his life but I really don’t care. I don’t let him upset me or get to me because it’s not something I need to worry myself about.
I understand that I do not like him and his presence is detremental to my happiness. My logical response is to keep him out of my life. Rather than being hateful, I am indifferent.

I think that your view on this whole wedding thing is correct and logical. If family mattered so much then why would your family want to upset you? Your sister’s going to be happy on that day no matter what. Your presence or lack of will not make a difference. I do imagine that she’ll start whining theatrically to your dad to make it sound like your absence is such a bad thing so he’ll come and have a go at you about it.

Would they be ok if you went to a family funeral and just laughed all the way through? You’re essentially going to some sort of family function where you’re meant to behave and feel something positive and they know you’ll be feeling the complete opposite. In conclusion, Kyle must attend all family functions but it is expected that he shall be unhappy.

On a completely unrelated note, I am now a red-head.
Ginger and in an IJHATT shirt, listening to the show to be precise!

ORION! You took my email out of context! I said I was grabbed by the clit, as in just out of nowhere, through my pants. I don’t know why.
You mentioned a book or something a while ago where you said it had better grab you by the balls and your friend said it had better grab her by the clit. Jeeeez.

6. Bames Jond says:

So Kyle, I’ve had a hankerin’ to make an LP of my own since like 2009, and I can’t decide what to play, who to play it with, etc. Since you’re becoming so well-known throughout the Let’s Play community, how about you choose a game? I’m up to do basically anything on the SNES.

On the whole siblings matter, I completely agree with you. If you’d be unhappy at a wedding, there’s no reason for you to have to go. Seems like that’s all there is.

7. I’m glad you liked the buttons! We get a few hundred made up each year for the local anime convention. I created the graphic myself and the buttons were made by Buttonworks. I sincerely endorse them…they’re great to work with and got a great deal.

I stayed out of the sister wedding debate; mostly because all I could think of is why other people are so invested in whether or not Kyle goes. What’s in it for you? I’m pretty close with my sister, but I don’t use other peoples’ family relationships as a meter for my own.

I say go or don’t…like I give a shit. It’s no one’s business but yours.

8. Kyle says:

First thing’s first: I finally heard from that interviewer guy and he said his You Tube channel got flagged for some song he put up and he couldn’t upload the interview. He said he has that sorted out now and the interview will go up next Saturday. I know. You’re disappointed.

I also decided that “Game DDer” probably means “Game Designated Driver”. You know, because he drives the video games for you.

That suuuuuuuuuucks! As far as the “life in general” stuff goes, I don’t really know. I feel like I’m very lacking in the energy/motivation department myself, although it’s possible that I’m just lazy and work has nothing to do with it. I never had trouble finding the motivation to eat a burger.

Oh man! Pocky and Rocky is one I thought about doing because it’s full of nutty Japanese mythological monsters which could be fun to try to make sense of, and it’s basically a two-player shooter so it could lend itself well to co-commentary if that’s what you want to do.
I love the game Cybernator, which is a side-scrolling platformer/shooter kind of like Contra but featuring a mech. If you’re into being informative you could delve into the differences between the Japanese version (Assault Suits Valken) and the English-language version (the English one is missing a suicide scene, for example). It’s one player though.
If you’re into RPGs Robotrek is one that hasn’t gotten a lot of coverage. You play as a kid who builds robots to use in battles. It’s pretty cutesy. Also one player.
You could do TMNT: Turtles in Time if you’re looking for something two-player that won’t take forever and won’t take a ton of editing. It’s been done, but it could be a good game to get your feet wet.

I could go on all day so I’ll leave you with that for now.

This is what it really boils down to, and the reason I found the reaction so annoying. I shouldn’t have to justify not going with a seething hatred of the person getting married. “I don’t like weddings, and I don’t really like the bride” should have been enough.

Yeah, they look really good.

I got those stamps I needed, so I’ll probably mail your stickers out from work tomorrow. Somebody else asked for stickers as well. I’m not sure if it’s someone from the forum or not, but if you’re reading this your stickers will go out at the same time.

The funniest part to me is that Paul has known my sister and had nothing nice to say about her himself.

To be fair I’ve only lived in two places since moving out of home. A student building that was 80% Art & Fashion students, and this place.

I think I find it easier to get on with girls. *Shrug*

Kyle: Annoyed or perplexed as our unsolicted thoughts / advice may have made you last week, I think you handled all of our comments–mine included–quite thoughtfully. And I appreciate that. Count me relieved! … if my saying so doesn’t make you feel like a heartless robot. =)

Orion: I never had the misfortune of playing Home Alone. By the evidence of LP videos on Youtube, it looks awful. Weird character animation, too. All the characters look like they’re dancing while they walk.

The worst games I’ve played were usually the ones my parents rented on my behalf. They’d say something like, “We rented a game for you, seeing as how you did so good on that [school assignment / project or whatever.]” And the game was almost always awful. *Sigh* … they meant well.

God I wish. Have you got any gay friends? On nights out the chicks just gravitate to them.

It’s not fair.
